{"id":2236,"date":"2016-07-30T07:31:22","date_gmt":"2016-07-30T07:31:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sunkrish.com\/?p=2236"},"modified":"2017-01-15T05:58:37","modified_gmt":"2017-01-15T05:58:37","slug":"foreign-capital-flow-into-ems-climbs-to-25-billion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sunkrish.com\/index.php\/2016\/07\/30\/foreign-capital-flow-into-ems-climbs-to-25-billion\/","title":{"rendered":"Foreign capital flow into EMs climbs to $25 billion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sunkrish.com\/index.php\/2016\/07\/31\/fdi-inflows-rise-7-to-10-55-bn-in-q1\/download-87\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-510\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-3326 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/sunkrish.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/download-87.jpg\" width=\"240\" height=\"180\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sunkrish.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/download-87.jpg 240w, https:\/\/sunkrish.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/download-87-150x113.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 240px) 100vw, 240px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Emerging markets (EMs) have witnessed an inflow of $25 billion from foreign portfolio investors in this month so far, says a report.<\/p>\n<p>Equity flows were the dominant driver this month, with an estimated $14.6 billion in inflows, while debt flows were more moderate at $10.2 billion, according to the report by the Institute of International Finance.<br \/>\nInflows were dominated by EM Asia, followed by Latin America, while EM Europe and Africa, West Asia saw modest outflows.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRegionally, EM Asia saw total inflows of $19.1 billion, followed by Latin America with inflows of $8.7 billion, while there were modest outflows from EM Europe and AFME,\u201d the report noted.<\/p>\n<p>Portfolio flows to EMs rose to $24.8 billion in July from $13.3 billion in the preceding month. Prior to that, EMs saw an outflow of $12.3 billion in May.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn fact, July marked only the second month over the past year where portfolio flows were above their long-term average of $22 billion,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n<p>The recovery in flows during the past few months follows a period of exceptional weakness in EM portfolio flows that began with China\u2019s mini-devaluation almost a year ago and saw cumulative outflows of $81 billion from EMs, compared to $96 billion during the global financial crisis.<\/p>\n<p>Source: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.business-standard.com\/article\/markets\/foreign-capital-flow-into-ems-climbs-to-25-billion-116072800946_1.html\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.business-standard.com\/article\/markets\/foreign-capital-flow-into-ems-climbs-to-25-billion-116072800946_1.html<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Emerging markets (EMs) have witnessed an inflow of $25 billion from foreign portfolio investors in this month so far, says a report.
